About Rob Hedrick

Rob Hedrick is the Manager of Broadcast Operations & Video Services for the Oklahoma City Thunder NBA team. Rob serves as Chief Creative Officer for the Westchester Film Group. The Westchester Film group is a consulting firm that he founded. Westchester specializes in post-production work, and broadcast design services.
Rob's duties as manager of Broadcast Operations include Tech Manager for NBA game broadcasts, coordinating technical operations between Fox Sports, ESPN, and TNT. Rob ensures that the Networks have the proper circuits to broadcast the games, cable interconnections, and helps to coordinate logistics between the television trucks. He also works with the city architects in the planning phases of new construction to ensure proper interconnects between the broadcast production facilities and the existing infrastructure. Rob also works with the IT department to make sure the broadcast facilities are on the cutting edge of technology.
Rob's duties are not limited to the technical side. He is also part of the creative team and produces award winning commercials and broadcast elements including opens, graphics and vignettes. In 2010 Rob was part of an Emmy award winning team for live sports coverage. In 2011 Rob's work was awarded 2 Telly Awards for commericials he produced. In 2009 on-going renovations to the OKC Arena allowed Rob to help design a new production control room for the in-arena game presentation. The Production control room project was an entirely HD facility. Rob served an integral role in the design, and value engineering for the project.
Prior to joining the Thunder, he worked as a Photojournalist. In his time in the news business Rob covered many stories that garnered national attention. In 2006 when wildfires destroyed hundreds of homes in Oklahoma City, he was live on CNN giving a damage tour of an area impacted by the destructive wildfires. Rob also reported on numerous severe weather events including tornadoes, and epic flooding in central Oklahoma. in 2007 he lead a Japanese television crew stormchasing as they worked on a documentary about the impacts of global warming. The special was the highest rated television program to date in Japan. in 2002 Rob developed software that allows television stations to stream live video over the internet for breaking news coverage. Rob was also part of the team that brought an affiliate station into a tapeless environment, helping plan workflow and managing asset storage and retrival.
His recent work can be seen on Fox Sports Oklahoma, Good Morning
America, ABC News, CNN, the
Discovery Channel as well as TV Asahi in Japan. Some of the events Rob has
covered include the 2011 NBA Playoffs, Oklahoma Tornadoes, Oklahoma Wildfires, Hurricane Katrina,
and
numerous human interest stories.
